Furman University's Spring 2025 Music Calendar Unveiled

The Department of Music at Furman University has released its vibrant lineup of performances and events for the upcoming spring semester. This diverse calendar invites music enthusiasts from all walks of life to experience a variety of concerts, recitals, and workshops that celebrate the richness of musical expression.
January kicks off with an array of faculty-led performances and conferences. A notable highlight is the Furman Church Music Conference, which welcomes guest clinician Joseph Martin. The month also features piano and trumpet recitals by esteemed faculty members David Gross and Buddy Deshler. Additionally, a special tribute concert honoring Dr. Gary Malvern’s retirement showcases the talent of the university's trumpet studio.
February and March continue the musical journey with operas, jazz ensembles, and symphonic bands taking center stage. Highlights include the presentation of three chamber operas by Gian Carlo Menotti, the winter concert by the Furman Jazz Ensemble, and the “Winners’ Spotlight” concert by the Furman Symphony Orchestra. Guest artists such as pianist Ksenia Nosikova and organist Janette Fishell add international flair to these performances. In April, the season concludes with a series of ensemble and solo recitals, culminating in the Palm Sunday Service and a spring concert featuring the Furman Symphony Orchestra and Singers.
